The challenge
Thrivence collaborated with Pyxl on a comprehensive branding and website design initiative. The design team, comprising a brand designer, UX designer, and myself as the UI designer, worked to seamlessly translate the newly developed brand into a dynamic web presence. My role focused on bringing the brand to life online, ensuring a cohesive and engaging digital experience. Together, we transformed Thrivence from concept to a fully established consulting firm, positioning them as thought leaders in their industry.
Who is Thrivence
Thrivence is a team of seasoned business professionals dedicated to driving long-term success for their clients. Comprised of former executives and industry leaders, they bring a deep understanding of complex organizations and their unique challenges. Rather than offering generic solutions, they invest the time to thoroughly understand each client’s needs and provide strategic, results-driven guidance.
01. Discovery
The discovery phase began with the Marketing Team establishing the brand voice and messaging to define the overall tone. The UX team then conducted discovery sessions to shape the website’s storytelling structure. Simultaneously, the branding team developed a logo and color palette to establish the brand’s visual identity.

02. UI Exploration
After the UX wireframes and content strategy were finalized, I was brought onto the project to expand the brand beyond its initial logo and two colors. My primary objective was to develop a cohesive visual direction—including color scheme, photography, and typography—and secure stakeholder approval.
Moodboards
Through mood board exploration, I sought to determine the client’s preference for a predominantly blue palette or a balanced blend of blue and green. Both directions conveyed key themes of innovation and expertise, with the bright green adding a more approachable feel, while the blue-dominated palette evoked a cooler, more corporate aesthetic. Additionally, we introduced a darker UI approach, which strongly resonated with the client.

I began by developing and expanding the color system to ensure maximum flexibility during the design phase. Various shades of the primary colors were introduced to define different states and enhance usability. Through this exploration, I secured a dark navy to add greater contrast to the palette.

Typography
I aimed to identify a font pairing that prioritized legibility while complementing the brand’s tone. A serif typeface was the optimal choice, as it conveyed professionalism, authority, and sophistication. To establish a balanced typographic system, I paired a serif headline with a complementary sans-serif body font, ensuring optimal legibility across all screen sizes.

03. UI Design System
Consistency is fundamental in UI design, as it ensures a seamless and intuitive user experience. To maintain visual harmony across the website, I developed a comprehensive design system encompassing typography, button styles, and a cohesive color palette. Establishing a structured approach to these elements not only reinforced brand identity but also improved usability by creating predictable patterns for users to follow. By defining a clear set of styles and components, I ensured design consistency across all pages, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality while streamlining the development process.
